According to Leguizamo, he won’t be watching the new Chris Pratt-led film. As he also thinks like some people that an Italian actor should have been cast.
“No, I will not be watching Super Mario Bros. They could have included a Latin character, like I was groundbreaking, and then they stopped the groundbreaking. They messed up the inclusion, they dis-included! Just cast come Latin folk. We’re 20% of the population. The largest people of color group, and we’re underrepresented. Overrepresented for the worst kind of jobs, though.”
Even though there is a lot of criticism surrounding the film, it did well at the box office. Currently, the film is projecting a $195M at the 5 days opening box office record. It looks like the film will continue to earn good and will remain unaffected by the controversies surrounding it.
