This minimal modern barn house was designed by Joan Heaton Architects, along with builder Silver Maple Construction, located in Weybridge, Vermont. This property was designed as a simple vacation getaway spot for a family to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. The structure was sited to take full advantage of southern exposure while maximizing views to the west. The design of this home was inspired by traditional barn forms and modernized with a structural system of steel beams.
Highlights of this modern barn house includes large expanses of glass in the windows and doors. Additionally, there is a twelve foot wide sliding door that disappears into the gable end wall, while a pivoting door entryway invites family and friends into this warm and welcoming abode. Other special features includes a “bump out” on the main level, which encompasses four cozy bunk beds to host overnight guests.
What We Love: This spectacular modern barn house is the perfect getaway spot for simple living with minimal details. The focus on this home is offering everyday modern comforts and focusing more on relaxing around the pool and enjoying nature. This home is perfect for entertaining with the built-in bunks beds able to accommodate several overnight guests. The soaring ceilings keep the interiors feeling bright and airy, while expansive windows help blur indoor-outdoor boundaries.
