Often depicted as a multi-billionaire philanthropist with a playboy nature by day, and a crime-fighting, justice-preaching vigilante by night, the character of Batman has always been centered around the dual personalities of him and Bruce Wayne that he has to continuously shift on a regular basis so that he can keep the people of Gotham safe from the darkness of the night and the darkness in the heart of criminals.

But what director Matt Reeves was able to achieve with the stellar performance from Hollywood star Robert Pattinson was truly remarkable, making The Batman a box office juggernaut in the Post-Covid Era with a staggering collection of $776 Million. Thus, to keep the newborn legacy of the franchise going, the director has decided to walk into the dark streets of Gotham even more and bring out more darkness for the audience to witness.
Matt Reeves Will Dive Deeper Into The Dark World Of The Batman!Robert Pattinson in and as The Batman
While Batman was a character that had to fight the criminal underworld on a daily basis in Gotham City, Bruce Wayne was the alter-ego that was the face of Wayne Enterprises and the one who presented himself in the light. But Robert Pattinson brought forth a Bruce Wayne that couldn’t bring himself out of the grief of losing his parents and became reclusive to the point he only sought vengeance from the world instead of justice as he has been for all these years.
And now, after delivering such a raw and rustic side of the Dark Knight to the audience, Matt Reeves is all set to up the ante with the upcoming sequel to the critically-acclaimed cinematic masterpiece. In an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, the Cloverfield director has revealed that the deep dive he had taken before to bring us this version of Batman will be the approach this time too, but with more depth than the last. He said:
“Whatever that story’s going to be, it’s going to be to take these characters and put them in some kind of emotional jeopardy. There’s a deep-dive that already happened at the beginning and now I’m gonna have to deep-dive again.”
With this confirmation, fans are expecting the dark and gritty nature of the previous film to be dwarfed in comparison to the events of the sequel, and with Reeves helming the project, we might just get another masterpiece of cinema.
