Love was in the air across Nottinghamshire courtesy of the Red Arrows.
The iconic RAF display team created an enormous love heart in the sky with the jets’ smoke trails – and it was captured by numerous delighted spectators in the county.
Sarah Flanagan told Forces News she captured her footage of the display from her window and was thrilled that the Red Arrows left something special in the sky.
She said in her Facebook post: “When you hear the Red Arrows in the sky and they write this above Southwell Minster WOW just WOW 💕.”
People across the whole of Nottinghamshire appear to have been able to see the delightful display, with mentions of the Red Arrows’ handiwork also made in Newark, Bingham, Southwell, Syerston and Hoveringham across social media.
The Red Arrows have been based at RAF Syerston in the county since January for training, following the closure of RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire.
Last month, the Red Arrows confirmed that they will be performing at one of the world’s largest military air shows later this year.
The iconic RAF display team will be part of the 2023 Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) being held at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire from 14-16 July.
RIAT wrote on its website that it was “delighted to welcome back the Red Arrows for RIAT 2023”.
