Grant Fendick, a 38-year-old business owner, saw a breathtaking, once-in-a-lifetime sighting while traveling along the Black Rhino Concession in the Pilanesberg.
Grante said that they came upon three cheetah brothers, who had recently ᴋɪʟʟed a wildebeest. Since cheetah sightings in the Pilanesberg are quite rare, they were delighted to see one. The cheetahs were quite ғʀɪɢʜᴛᴇɴed and jittery, as if they had felt soᴍᴇᴛʜing was not quite right.
Then, to their delight, a troop of wild dogs came into view. They were sʜᴏᴄᴋed to see them begin to move in from the right side. The three cheetahs on the ᴋɪʟʟ had caught the dogs’ attention, and they realized that this was an easy chance to score a free meal. After beginning to scare the cheetahs, the wild dogs eventually drove them away and ᴋɪʟʟed the prey in a manner that appeared savage.
Witnessing such a thing was amazing. The cheetahs were being taunted by wild dogs, and the noises the dogs were producing were so powerful and unsettling that it was really ᴛᴇʀʀɪғʏing. Being present for this sighting was such a blessing. It altered his entire existence. Grant said that they finally saw the wild dogs in Pilanesberg after waiting for 15 years.
