David De Gea completed a treble of Manchester United successes in the Premier League monthly awards for February.
Our no.1 picked up the Save of the Month award for his full-stretch stop to palm Kelechi Iheanacho’s header away, during the 3-0 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford.
As this trophy is a new one for 2022/23, this is the first time a single club has won it as well as also landing the individual manager and player accolades.
Erik ten Hag was voted Manager of the Month, pipping Antonio Conte of Tottenham and Fulham’s Marco Silva to the prize, after the Reds were unbeaten in February.
As was the case when he won it in September, the manager insisted on his staff joining him to pose for the official photograph, emphasising the message that it was a team effort.
Marcus Rashford was the third Reds recipient of an award at Carrington, as he was the clear choice as February’s star man in the top flight.
The in-form forward performed superbly across all competitions but scored in each of the league games, against Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Leeds United (home and away), finishing up with five goals in four matches.
”It’s obviously a great feeling,” he admitted. “I feel like I am still pushing and working towards what I see as the best version of me. I know I have to do that with my team and I can’t win these awards without my team-mates, as I have said before.
“Big thank you to my team-mates, to the staff and to the people who voted.”
Well done to David, Erik and Marcus!
