Two male tigers are seen ғɪɢʜᴛing ferociously in a dramatic video that has gone viral. Helena Watkins captured the footage at the Tiger Canyon wildlife and safari area in Sᴏᴜᴛʜ Aғʀɪᴄᴀ.
The video depicts a protracted ғɪɢʜᴛ between two male tigers. To assert their authority, the two tigers snarl, scratch, and engage in combat. The main cause of ғɪɢʜᴛing among male tigers is to defend their territory. Tiger battles can also be over the right to mate with a female.
The tiger is the largest wild cat in the world and is easily identified by its reddish-orange coat with dark stripes. The three-foot tail of the huge cat is lengthy. The huge cat often weights 450 pounds, which is equivalent to eight children aged 10 years old. It is three feet tall, has four-inch-long teeth, and claws the length of house keys.
The strong predator typically ʜᴜɴᴛs by himself and is capable of taking down prey like deer and antelope. Tigers do not ʜᴜɴᴛ till it is dark. The tiger runs up to an unwary animal and typically lifts it off its feet using its fangs and claws. If the target animal is huge, the tiger will typically Bɪᴛᴇ its throat to ᴋɪʟʟ it; for smaller prey, the tiger will typically break its neck. Although tigers have been known to eat up to 80 pounds of ᴍᴇᴀᴛ in a single night, most commonly they only eat 12 pounds at a time. A tiger may consume its prey over the course of several days. After finishing its meal, the cat covers the carcass with mud and leaves. The tiger returns for further feeding.
