Paris Saint-Germain’s free-scoring striker Kylian Mbappé (24) produced yet another masterclass against arch-rivals Olympique de Marseille in a one-sided Classique.
The France international struck twice and assisted Lionel Messi for PSG’s second goal in a commanding 3-0 away win for Les Parisiens. For his first strike, Mbappé dispatched past Pau Lopez after a trademark burst of pace. And for his second, he struck a first-time volley with the outside of his weaker foot. Mbappé was assisted by the Argentine world champion twice.
Croatian Marseille head coach Igor Tudor was in awe of Mbappé and lamented the space that OM players left him to wreak havoc. “He got too much space because he is an amazing player. He is making so many differences“, assessed Tudor to L’Equipe. “He’s from another planet, simple as that.”
The former Juventus player’s plan to mark Mbappé with Manchester United loanee Eric Bailly quickly backfired. The Ivory Coast international seemed somewhat lethargic compared to his opponent’s electric pace, receiving a rating of 2 by Get French Football News.
