Gabriel Martinelli’s goal against Leicester City was the 200th we’ve scored in the Premier League under Mikel Arteta.
The very first was scored by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, in a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth on December 26, 2019 – the boss’s first game in charge.
The double century was brought up in Arteta’s 120th game in the competition, at a rate of 1.66 goals per game.
Bukayo Saka is the leading scorer in the league games under the boss with 26, he recently overtook Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (25). Alexandre Lacazette is next with 22, Gabriel Martinelli has now moved onto 19 and Martin Odegaard is next with 16.
In that same time period, we’ve conceded 131 goals in the league. Throughout Arteta’s reign we’ve scored 280 goals in all competitions.
We also brought up a couple of other landmarks in the victory. It was our 10th success on the road in the Premier League this season, the fastest we have reached 10 away victories in any league campaign in our history (13 matches).
Aaron Ramsdale also kept his eighth clean sheet in a Premier League away game this season, the most by any keeper for us since Jens Lehmann also kept eight in the unbeaten 2003/04 season.
It was a quiet afternoon for our keeper though, he didn’t have a single save to make, as we restricted the Foxes to just one shot all afternoon – their fewest in a game since Opta stats began in 2003/04.
