Marcus Rashford became the first Manchester United player since Wayne Rooney to score in seven straight Premier League games at Old Trafford when he netted against Leicester on Sunday.
The in-form forward struck found the net on the counter when his team were struggling in the first half before adding a second in the 3-0 victory.
It continued what has been a glorious patch of form for the Englishman since the World Cup, where he will feel he should have been given a more prominent role.
For the seventh time in a row he scored in a home game, a feat last achieved by United legend Rooney.
Rooney started his goalscoring record in December 2009 that lasted until March 2010, making it eight league games in Old Trafford in the row in total.
However, Rashford has three Old Trafford matches to go to match Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 10 in a row.
His form has been the highlight of United’s renaissance under Erik ten Hag.
The Red Devils now sit just five points behind Arsenal, who do have a game in hand.
Their home form has been tremendous and they are now just three points behind local rivals Manchester City.
