Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland are considered the next pair of rivals in the football village.
In a conversation with Telefoot, former Marseille striker and French legend Jean-Pierre Papin talked about the rivalry between Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, and which attacker would have a better career.
Jean-Pierre Papin asserts: “Results and records, that is what will make the difference.” However, Papin admits that “the fight between Haaland and Mbappe will be epic.”
Papin is currently a technical consultant at Marseille club, where he played between 1986 and 1992. He scored 134 goals in 215 appearances for Marseille, having also played for AC Milan, Bayern Munich and Bordeaux.
Kylian Mbappe will miss PSG’s Champions League round of 16 match at home to Bayern Munich with a thigh injury that has kept him out for three weeks. Mbappe has scored 13 goals in Ligue 1 in 19 appearances, while also scoring 7 goals in the Champions League.
Before that, he also won the Golden Boot title at the 2022 World Cup with 8 goals including a hat-trick in the final.
Meanwhile, Erling Haaland stormed the Premier League with 25 goals in 20 games for the Manchester team.
