Manchester City‘s owners are reportedly set to expand their portfolio of football clubs by ‘completing the purchase of Brazilian side EC Bahia’.
According to The Mirror, the City Football Group will make Bahia the 12th club under their footballing umbrella despite currently facing 115 charges.
It would appear that the City Football Group will continue their business as usual – as the club’s chief executive Ferran Soriano has reportedly ‘agreed terms for City to purchase a 90 percent stake’ in the club.
Bahia are located in the Salvador region of Brazil and currently play in Brazil’s top division.
The club have a huge following and of which reportedly ‘around 98 percent of members’ voted the deal for the CFG to buy the club through.

Manchester City are the biggest club of the CFG’s portfolio where they own teams in various countries around the world.
However, City are currently facing over a hundred charges from the Premier League – allegations they are confident of defending.
The club responded swiftly, making it clear that they wanted to challenge the allegations as they insisted they ‘look forward to this matter being put to rest once and for all.’
City boss Pep Guardiola defended his club during his first press conference following the allegations.
Guardiola said: ‘We were not part of the establishment, they can do it but the only thing I regret is that they should let us have the chance to defend ourselves.
‘Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but it didn’t happen. Who is going to return the damage (caused by) the articles.’
By purchasing EC Bahia it would appear that the City owners are as confident as Guardiola in dealing with the charges.
