Playing together were the world’s last three remaining free-roaming white tigers.
At the Tiger Canyon reserve in Philippolis, South Africa, photographer Clint Ralph caught these magnificent photographs of a snow-white Bengal tiger family playing in the water.
One of his recent photographs shows two separate huge cats playing in the water, while another shows a third precisely reflected as it approaches the water. Clint, 55, from Pretoria, South Africa, remarked, “These are the only three free-roaming white tigers in the world.”
Although tigers are confined in zoos, this mother and her two cubs reside on a reserve where they are allowed to wander.
Clint, who owns a recycling and waste management company and has been photography for five years, said, “I was relieved to see them.” “It was amazing to watch and then picture them playing in the water.”
“The reserve piqued my interest, so I accepted the invitation to come shoot the tigers,” he explained.
“Creating a refuge where tigers may go free and hunt their own prey is a fantastic and bold notion,” he remarked.
“The idea is to establish a gene pool outside of Asia as a safety net for endangered species.”
“With poaching and habitat destruction on the rise, this project should help to boost the world’s free-roaming tiger population.”
