1983 Lancia 037

To greatly simplify, the original 037 Rally cars were S/N 001 to 220. The Evo 1 cars are S/N 301 to 320. Evo 2 cars are S/N 400 to 420.

These cars were designed to compete in the popular Group B World Rally Championship. This car was first registered on November 2, 1983. It is finished in the popular and period correct Martini White with Blue and Red stripes. It competed in numerous European Rallys throughout 1985 and 1986 with a victorious finish in the Italian Championship race in 1985. It was registered to Fiat Auto Spa from November 8, 1983 to November 20, 1983. At the 1984 World Rally Championship it finished 2nd at round 7 New Zealand driven by Markku Alen and Ilkka Kivimakinm for Works Martini. At the Rally Costa Brave in February 1985 the car was driven by Dario Cerrato and Giuseppi Cerri, race #7, in TOTIP colors. This was a European Championship race, with a second place finish. At the Rally Targa Florio it was driven by Gianfranco Cunico and Pierangelo Scalvini as #4, in dark blue/white Starter colors. This was a European and Italian Championship race in which it DNFed.

In 1986, the 037 was deemed obsolete and would be replaced by the all-wheel drive Delta S4 model. By 1987 they were banned from all WRC and ERC events and all but select Italian rallys, limiting its use and appeal. It would run in the Monte Maddalena Hill climb, driven by Seroh, but was unable to finish. From 1988-2013, it was campaigned in various historic rallys by Guiseppe Zonca. In 2014, it was picked up in Mochov, Czech Republic by Eddie Daepp’s, arriving in Atlanta, Georgia.

Power comes from a Lampredi designed 2111cc four-cylinder supercharged engine producing 325 horsepower, making it an incredibly lively machine.
