According to reports, Chelsea could make a move for Luis Enrique if they choose to replace current boss Graham Potter.
Fichajes.net say that Chelsea have ‘meddled strongly’ with the idea of making a move for the head coach following Potter’s poor performance so far.
Despite the money spent by Chelsea since Todd Boehly took over – results have not improved under their current coach.
Fichajes state that it could be Enrique coaching the likes of big money signings Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk soon.
The former Spain boss has been out of a job since the 2022 World Cup – where his side crashed out in a penalty shootout defeat against Morocco.
A move to Chelsea would signal a return to club football for Enrique for the first time since 2017 – when he was managing Barcelona.
The 52-year-old had a successful spell at the Catalan club and managed to lead the side to an impressive treble in 2015.
If Enrique ends up at the London club – Chelsea bosses will be hoping for a similar accomplishment at Stamford Bridge.
However, silverware currently seems a long way off for the Blues.
Potter’s side find themselves sitting in ninth place in the Premier League – 10 points off the Champions League spots and 20 points behind Arsenal in first.
The Blues head to West Ham in their next league outing – hoping to return to winning ways with their January signings.
