In Tlalpan Village, a group of about a dozen human skeletons were discovered in a circle inside an old Mexican pit. The ancient burial place was uncovered four feet beneath a building that housed the dorms and classrooms for priests by a group of archaeologists.
Ten human skeletons were interlocked in an extremely strange way at this site, which was south of modern-day Mᴇxɪᴄᴏ City.
It’s not unusual to find ancient skeletons in secret graveyards, but these bodies, which date back more than 2500 years, were found lying on their sides with their arm bones arranged in a spiral pattern.
According to a statement from the National Institute of Anthropology and History, the discovery is not only the first of its kind but also suggests a ritualistic burial in which people may have been intertwined with ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ.
According to the person who found the skeletons, “There Were People Over Others, For Example: The Baby On The Body Of Another, The Head Of One Person On The Chest Of The Other, The Hands Of One Person Under The Other.”
Two of them were female and one was male, according to the team who is currently studying the bones. The majority of them, it has been established, were teenagers who were parents of two young children, a child between the ages of three and five, and a newborn who was less than one month old. The discovery is still under investigation.
Although the precise reason for their demise is still unknown, archaeologists have found several deformities on their teeth and skull that appeared to be deliberate.
In the past, MesoAᴍᴇʀɪᴄᴀn remains have been found to have cranial deformities. It was done for a variety of reasons, including representing social status or group affiliation. Inside the grave, archaeologists also discovered ancient clay pots, ceramic spheres, stones, and bowls.
