Brad Pitt admitted it was his idea to share an onscreen kiss with Margot Robbie in the upcoming flick Babylon.
The 59-year-old recently let slip he may have nudged scriptwriters in the direction of a co-star smooch as he didn’t want to miss out on the chance to lock lips with the blonde bombshell.
He was transparent about the fact the kiss was an added demand from the Troy actor during an interview on Monday.
Brad told The Project’s Waleed Aly when asked about his intimate moment with Margot, 32: ‘No [it wasn’t in the script]. I had asked for it, if we can write that in.
‘You know, when was I going to get a chance to do this again? And we did it.’
The Australian beauty butted in with ‘I might add too that Nellie (Margot’s character) kisses fifteen people in this movie’ following which her co-star joked that the character was probably prone to contracting sexually transmitted diseases.
Babylon tells the story of two actors making their way in the industry during the roaring twenties and is directed by Damien Chazelle of La La Land.
The pair are no strangers to each other as they both shared the set during filming for Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood, however, this film will be the first time they have directly acted alongside each other.
In this new silver screen flick, Margot’s character is said to be based on the original It girl Clara Bow and contains many a party scene to keep audiences entertained.
Brad’s kissing comments came after the Barbie star trended on the internet for revealing to E! News that she instigated the onscreen kiss with Angelina Jolie’s former husband.
She told the outlet: ‘That wasn’t in the script. but I thought: “When else am I gonna get the chance to kiss Brad Pitt? I’m just gonna go for it”
‘I said: “Damien, I think Nellie would just go up and kiss Jack.” And Damien was like: “Well, she could – wait, hold on. You just wanna kiss Brad Pitt.”
‘And I was like: “Oh, so sue me. This opportunity might never come up again.” And he was like: “It does work for the character” and I was like: “I think so.”‘
