Margot Robbie opened up on Wednesday about the similarities between herself and the character she plays in her new movie Babylon.
The 32-year-old actress said both she and her character Nellie LaRoy are highly driven women determined to make it big in showbusiness.
‘I definitely relate to Nellie’s drive. She’s hell-bent on making it in Hollywood,’ Margot told The Australian.
She added: ‘When you get to Hollywood, there are so many people wanting the same thing. You just need to want it more than everyone else.’
Margot added that, like Nellie, she was determined to get her ‘foot in the door’ and did everything she could to make it happen.
Her commitment to her goals saw her go from a steady gig on Australian soap opera Neighbours from 2008 to 2011, to starring opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in her 2013 breakthrough movie The Wolf of Wall Street.
Margot and Diego Calva are in Australia promoting their movie Babylon, and on Thursday she said she was giving her co-star a unique ‘Australian experience’.
The beauty revealed she had shown the Mexican actor, 30, some amazing Sydney landmarks and introduced him to some delicious Aussie treats.
‘I’m trying to inject as much of the Australian experience for Diego while he’s here,’ she said on the Hit Network’s Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield.
‘He just tried his first Burger Ring,’ she added.
The two-time Oscar nominee also said she had introduced Diego to her friends and family, but unfortunately there was one Australian highlight he would miss out on.
‘He’s a very in-demand actor so while he was able to stay in Sydney, there’s no time to come to the Gold Coast,’ she said.
