Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has decided to include a trip to Las Vegas as part of the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.
United haven’t been stateside since 2018, a visit marred by Jose Mourinho’s growing frustration with the Red Devils’ hierarchy.
Mourinho used the trip to vent his anger at ex-vice chairman Ed Woodward’s failure to sign him a central defender during the transfer window.
The self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ was gone by the end of that year after failing to get the best out of a squad he took to second a year prior.
“At a top club like this, it has to be like that,” the full-back told BT Sport. “I think that people can’t do whatever they want and maybe that’s been part of the problem in the past with people getting away with silly little things.
“The manager takes all of that into consideration. Like you’ve seen today, if you’re not keeping the standards high then you won’t play.”
United return to action against Nottingham Forest in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday evening. They enter the game 3-0 up after a dominant victory at the City Ground five days ago.
