Casemiro has responded to Gary Neville’s criticism of Antony, calling the Brazilian an important member of the first team.
The Brazilian winger has been criticized in recent weeks for his lackluster performances, which he said did not deserve the 100 million euros that MU spent. Gary Neville said Antony was too predictable after MU’s 2-3 defeat to Arsenal.
Another former MU player, Rio Ferdinand, said Antony lacked the speed to beat defenders in the Premier League. The player born in 2000 has scored 5 goals in 20 appearances for MU, he has 1 assist in the Red Devils’ 3-1 victory over Reading and received the man of the match award in the 4th round of the FA Cup.
After the game, Casemiro praised Antony. “ Every goal we score is the result of a collective effort,” he said. Every goal we have to concede is also the fault of the whole system, there is no fault of any individual in this squad.”
“On my first goal against Reading, Antony’s pass was fantastic. I know that people focus on who scored, but I want to give him credit for the great pass.”
“Antony is an important player for us. When you come to a new club, you always dream of making history, that’s even bigger with a club like MU. But of course, I am aware that it takes time to adapt, to get used to the new environment.”
