Dzeko reached that tally in 62 games while Haaland has reached it in just 11 games – an astonishing ratio of 1.6 per game.
Next in his sights is current team-mate Ilkay Gundogan, who’s ninth with 23 goals from 93 appearances.
In eighth is another current hotshot, Riyad Mahrez, who has 26 goals from 67 appearances.
Midfield legend Yaya Toure comes in at seventh with 30 goals in 118 appearances while Gabriel Jesus is sixth with 32 goals from 77 games.
Carlos Tevez is fourth with 38 goals from 58 matches.
Kevin De Bruyne (40/113) is third with Raheem Sterling second with 51 goals from 109 appearances.
There’s little surprise who’s top of the rankings.
It’s, of course, Sergio Aguero, who scored 106 goals from 142 appearances.
Haaland is still a way off Aguero’s mighty milestone.
But he’s moving up the list with frightening speed.
Who knows where he’ll end up at the end of this 2022/23 campaign?
HOME COMFORTS
His 18-goal haul also means Erling Haaland now holds the record for the most goals scored at the Etihad Stadium in a single Premier League season.
He’s now gone beyond Sergio Aguero’s previous record tally of 16 set in 2011/12.
It’s worth pointing out that Haaland has reached that milestone in just 11 games while Aguero’s 16 goals came across 16 games.
Aguero is third in the list, also, with 15 goals in three separate seasons – 2018/19, 2017/18 and 2015/16, along with Carlos Tevez who scored 15 in 2009/10.
In total, Haaland has 25 Premier League goals so far this campaign and leads the league’s scoring charts.
He has scored 31 competitive goals for Manchester City, with five coming in the UEFA Champions League and one in the Carabao Cup.
HAT-TRICK HERO
Erling Haaland’s treble against Wolves saw him score his fourth Premier League hat-trick.
He’s reached that milestone in just 19 appearances.
Haaland is now the quickest ever to that total, beating previous fastest Ruud van Nistelrooy (65 games) by an astonishing 46 matches.
He’s now just one hat-trick away from equalling the Premier League single season record for most in a campaign.
Haaland is on four in 2022/23 along with Harry Kane for Tottenham in 2016/17.
The record is held currently by Alan Shearer, who scored five for Blackburn Rovers across the 1995/1996 campaign.
He has, however, drawn level with Shearer for most trebles at a single ground in a Premier League season.
Shearer bagged four for Blackburn at Ewood Park across the 1995/96 season.
Haaland equalled that feat with his fourth hat-trick at the Etihad Stadium against Wolves.
He moved clear of three hat-trick players Ruud van Nistelrooy (Old Trafford – 2002/03), Dimitar Berbatov (Old Trafford – 2010/11), Sergio Agüero (Etihad Stadium – 2018/19) and Shearer again (Ewood Park – 1994/95).
Erling Haaland is the fastest player in the history of the Premier League to reach 25 goals.
That tally in just 19 games means he’s eclipsed the record previously set by Kevin Phillips, who managed 25 goals in 26 games – seven more than Haaland.
Andrew Cole is third (25/27) while Alan Shearer is joint fourth (25/34) with Fernando Torres (25/34).
Going back to December, he also became the fastest player to score 20 goals in the Premier League.
His brace against Leeds United at Elland Road ensured he reached that milestone in just 14 appearances.
That was seven appearances fewer than the next quickest – Kevin Phillips for Sunderland in the 1999/2000 campaign.
